Today, we council tax payers, many in receipt of state pensions with limited increases of 2.5%, have received notice of a 4.1% increase in annual charges via council tax.
The Police For Lancashire have received an increase of 7.1%. How do the elected members of LCC, WLBC, LFA, who sit and receive huge extra allowances on top of their basic allowances, not feel embarrassed by the fees they receive?
This regular annual increase demeans the members who never think of how their increased fees affect state pensioners. Wouldn’t it be better if all fees paid to elected members required the approval by a public vote of council tax payers?
Where is there any local politician who will campaign for these annual charges to not exceed the annual state pension increase?
