Thursday the 11th March 2021, Officers from Lancashire’s Rural Taskforce working with our partners and colleagues at Merseyside Police, RSPCA Special Operations Unit and West Lancs NHP have executed two warrants in Wigan under the Animal Welfare Act.
As a result, a 36-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of offences under THE HUNTING ACT, GAME ACT and several breaches of court order, the order being a lifetime ban from keeping dogs.
The male has been charged with 10 offences and remanded in custody. We as the Rural Task Force will continue to work closely with neighbouring police forces and key partners such as the RSPCA to tackle crime in our Rural Communities.
Crime is borderless and we are too. If you have any information about Wildlife, Rural or Heritage crime you can get in touch with the team on SouthRTF@Lancashire.police.uk, report via 101, online here: http://orlo.uk/9IcbX or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
