Coronavirus Infections Remain Too High In West Lancashire

Despite national news of lower coronavirus infections the Ormskirk & Southport NHS Trust hospitals have reported 26 new cases in West Lancashire, bringing the cumulative number to 8,175, that’s 7,151.9 infections per 100,000 of our community. Between 8 February 2021 and 14 February 2021, 180 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of 25.3% compared to the previous 7 days.

Public Health England reports there were 0 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 14 February 2021.

Between 8 February 2021 and 14 February 2021, there have been 9 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of 10% compared to the previous 7 days.

Perhaps the vaccination programme will bring more relief soon, but not soon enough for those whose memoriam candles will flicker forever?
