
More than 3,000 people have now sadly died in Lancashire’s hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.
The tragic milestone was passed today, February 2nd as another 31 fatalities were recorded across four NHS trusts in the latest NHS figures. Five patients died at Ormskirk & Southport Hospital trust on January 30 and two more died on January 31st and two more on February 1st. West Lancashire has now sadly lost 345 members of our community.
Public Health England states that in West Lancashire 36 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 2 February 2021. Between 27 January 2021 and 2 February 2021, 294 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of 33.5% compared to the previous 7 days.
