
The latest coronavirus infection rate data from Public Health England shows West Lancashire having risen dramatically, doubling, with an infection rate of 398.1.
In the county, Lancaster, Chorley and West Lancashire have shown the biggest growths with the number of new cases in those boroughs doubling when compared to the previous week.
Update. Today, West Lancashire reports another 74 infections at the Ormskirk & Southport NHS Trust hospitals, the total is now 1,847 and there are 1,615.8 infections per 100,000 of the population. No West Lancashire deaths from the virus have been reported today.
