Welcome to West Lancashire Community Leisure…Not!

But not today. Due to the Coronavirus, an update – All Leisure Facilities Closed.

Following government instructions to all fitness facilities on the issue of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are temporarily closing our centre from close of play tonight (20th March).
As soon as we are able to safely re-open, we will ensure all customers are informed via our website, e-mail and social media channels. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our employees, members and other centre users for their patience and understanding during this difficult period.

Below is a list of typical questions you may have

What about my membership payments? For people who pay by Direct Debit, your payments will be frozen for the entire time we are closed. For people who have paid in full for memberships, we will add on the missing months once we re-open to ensure you get your full period of membership with us.

What about sessions that I’ve already booked and paid for? Using swimming lessons as an example, if your child has five sessions remaining, when we open again, they’ll still have five sessions left, so no-one loses out and you don’t lose your place in these popular classes. This principle applies to all sessions. If you’ve booked an activity with us, when we re-open, we’ll ensure you get what you paid for, and we’ll be flexible as we can around rearranging those sessions for you. We do ask that customers be patient with us during this period and immediately after we re-open. We will have an unprecedented number of payments and bookings to deal with, so would ask that you go easy on us during this time. It’s going to be tough, but with your help and understanding, we’ll get through this.

What happens if I have booked a birthday party at the centre? If you have a party booked with us and have made a payment, this will be refunded to you, our team will be in touch to organise this.

Can I cancel? We would hope you’ll stick with us, and with the payment freeze, you won’t be out of pocket in anyway. However, if you do choose to leave us, please follow our standard cancellation procedures. Details on our website. When we re-open again, we would love to welcome you back.

Any tips on staying active during this down-time? Good question, and you’ve asked the right people, but we thought we’d go to the top and ask our head of health and fitness, Paul Street for his top tips on staying active if you’re at home. It goes without saying, that if you are feeling unwell in any way, please think carefully before exerting yourself.

Over to Paul. My first tip is simply to keep as active as you can while you’re away from the club. Staying active will help your physical health, of course, but also help you mentally cope with the challenges we’re all facing due to the virus. Whatever you can do to keep on the move in some way is going to help.

Second tip is a bit more specific. Take advantage of our LES MILLS™ On Demand offer, which gives you hundreds of great fitness classes, led by LES MILLS™ top trainers, all from the comfort of your own home. All users of our facilities can get 30 days for free.
There is also some fantastic information and support from Sport England, please use the link below for more information.

Final thought. We have not been given a timeline for re-opening, but please rest assured, this will pass and when it does, we’ll be back and ready to welcome you through our doors again. In the meantime, stay safe, stay as active as you safely can, follow all government guidelines on modes of behaviour during this period and we’ll see you, when we see you. Some employees will be working over the closure period, so if you do have any questions not covered by the information here, please do not hesitate to get in touch using the online form. Thank you.
