Burscough Converts From Parish To Town Council

Burscough Parish Council

has announced its forthcoming conversion on 1st January 2020 to a Town Council.

The official change of status was agreed in November. Burscough Parish Council suggests it is on a par with Maghull and Penwortham and its population is now over 10,000 with over 3,800 homes. But the WLBC Accounts/Budget for this year show a Tax Base of only 3,162 homes, suggesting a big difference in housing development. It’s officially a “small town”. The change received a unanimous vote by the forward looking Parish Council.
