While Lancashire PCC Clive Grunshaw was launching a new £100k fund
to tackle knife crime, Lancs Police ARV reported “two people were arrested in Aughton in the early hours of 19th October. The offenders had been lying down in the road feigning illness/injury, motives remain unknown at this time. When searched, balaclavas and these two large knives
were recovered. Our thanks to the vigilant member of the public!”
Mr Grunshaw said “I am inviting community and third sector organisations to submit funding applications for projects that aim to address the known underlying causes and drivers of knife crime”. Might we expect the Aughton Parish Council to be a bidder after this latest strange event?
