Waiting For Rosie?

West Lancashire is awaiting news of the Labour candidate for the expected upcoming general election. Will Rosie Cooper extend her 2005 to 2019 record? The constituency is not listed as a Labour vacancy.

Ahead of a likely early general election, Labour opened selections for parliamentary candidates in its remaining vacant seats in England. The announcement was made via an email from general secretary Jennie Formby, who informed party members that the applications will close at 5pm on Friday 6th September.

Update: The deadline for applications has now been extended to 10am on Monday 9th September.

Dear member

With Boris Johnson’s disastrous government now without a mandate and a majority, we are very likely to find ourselves with a General Election over the next few weeks.

Since 2017 we have already selected candidates in over 100 of the most marginal seats, and we have been campaigning hard in the areas we need to win to put Jeremy into Downing Street.

We now need to make sure we have candidates everywhere and I wanted to let you know that applications for the remaining seats are now open, so we are ready to complete selections across the country should a General Election be called.

Applications are open now and will close at 5pm on Friday 6 September. You can find more information, including which North West seats currently have vacancies, below.

Best wishes,
Jennie Formby

Isn’t that a bit unfair? She’s been a diligent constituency MP. Her efforts to help to expose the truth about Serco and where all the Beacon Park Golf Course landfill royalties have gone have been exemplary.

Perhaps “pants” would like soundbyte Sam Currie as her replacement?
Rosie was supporting the anti fracking cause on Friday night in Haskayne Parish Hall however there was no sign of the tory candidate who happens to live only a few hundred meters away which was somewhat supprising!

Yes, she has been staunch in her support for anti-fracking groups, and also, I think, for the recent victory against the flooding of Burscough, the Gavin Rattray legal victory? Surely Currie wouldn’t risk another wipeout, but with Wally chairing the Tory association candidate selection anything stupid is possible?
