Rosie Cooper opposed to the latest Brexit betrayal of 17,410,742 Leave voters

Last night Rosie Cooper said no to the EU Withdrawal (No. 5) Bill which seeks to prevent a no-deal Brexit by mandating Theresa May to seek an extension to the Article 50 period. Just before 11.30pm last night MPs gave the Bill a Third Reading by 313 votes to 312, majority of one. The Bill now has to proceed through its stages in the House of Lords.

Other Labour MPs who defied the party whip with Rosie were Kevin Barron, Ronnie Campbell, Caroline Flint, Stephen Hepburn, Kate Hoey, John Mann, Dennis Skinner and Graham Stringer.

Voted (no) against amending the main motion to allow indicative votes on EU withdrawal on 8th April (division #402; result was 310 aye, 310 no)

Voted (no) against allowing all proceedings on the European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 5) Bill to take place today (division #403; result was 312 aye, 311 no)

Voted (no) against passing the European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 5) Bill to its committee stage (division #404; result was 314 aye, 310 no)

Voted (no) against amending the European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 5) Bill to say any extension motion can only be amended to include a date (division #408; result was 104 aye, 508 no)

Voted (no) against passing the European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 5) Bill (division #409; result was 313 aye, 312 no)

  1. She might want a customs union, but she has voted for May’s Deal and wants us to leave in an orderly fashion. That beats many of her Parliamentary colleagues.

    • Yes, that’s fair enough. She thinks a customs union will protect jobs. But it’s reasonable of us to think a WTO deal will create more jobs. An orderly exit isn’t in doubt, leavers are law abiding.
