Bollocks To The Ballot Box

While the turmoil of the EU British exit swirls around us

including the illegal challenge to a lawful national vote, local elections are now commencing their usual brouhaha. Local manifestos are being stuffed through our letter boxes by canvassers, even filmed and published on social media as they do it.

Have you asked yourself

Why would anyone want to be a part of the EU when it is led by the likes of Donald Tusk?

Are you asking yourself in how many elections, local and national, do you suppose we had to ask for the will of the people, the electorate, to be respected? In my lifetime? None. Until now.

In 2016 the WLBC local elections delivered the usual unchallenged ward results. No challenge declared.

Also, in June 2016, the EU referendum delivered a result, no challenge declared.

When the Tory party called for an election in 2017, the result went unchallenged? Rosie Cooper was elected in West Lancashire, no challenge declared.

So what changed in the normally peaceful and placid UK? Why are our politicians failing to deliver Brexit? And why no acceptance of just one electoral choice, that of the EU referendum? Because of a Remain Parliament and a Leave electorate.

The 2019 WLBC Conservative manifesto doesn’t contain a single policy that would improve the services to we residents. It’s just the same old same old…attack Labour. And I have no doubt the Labour manifesto will be the same, attack the Tories. It will be the annual knockabout.

The simple fact must be that our local politicians, useless as they are, will deliver the messages and fail the delivery of services.

Why bother to vote for any of them? Don’t do it. Turn up and write “None of the above” or, “Brexit”, or “Bollocks”, across the paper. Because this really is a year to say, enough is enough. Democracy? It’s a joke.

And did you know that Paragraph 89 of the EU/May Political Declaration obliges the police to arrest people deemed to have committed ‘political offences’, a crime not known in our law? The EU’s Attorney-General equivalent has said that “Criticism of the EU is akin to blasphemy”. I plead guilty, M’lud!

We would be listed as a ‘participating state’ within the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism, paving the way for us to having to contribute money to any Eurozone bailout. (The EU Civil Protection Mechanism was how we were forced into giving the Eurozone money after the 2008 economic crash).

The Agreement stipulates the ECJ and the European Commission would be able to set the legal levels of our financial contributions to fund EU bodies which the Agreement commits us to be part of. In effect we would be handing the EU a blank cheque

Be careful what you vote for! The Theresa May EU Withdrawal Agreement is a sham, and the local election manifestos are shams too! Make 2019 the lowest turnout ever.

As the “Maverick” Austin Mitchell writes today

“Do you love unrestricted immigration, dearer food, a gaping trade deficit of £93 billion? Then join the great Junker March and show you like being buggered about by Europe (Sponsored by the EU Commission)”.
