Political Duplicity? Surely Not!

PM duplicity exposed as “on the one hand, she  said in reply to Jeremy Corbyn that failure to back her deal “could risk no Brexit at all”. Yet a few minutes later Esther McVey who resigned from the Cabinet last week asked the Prime Minister to “assure the House today, as she has done on many other occasions, that the UK will be leaving the EU on 29th March 2019 come what may”. And the reply came back “I can give her the assurance that the United Kingdom will leave the European Union on 29th March 2019”.

Locally we read that “MP will weigh up PM’s Brexit deal before voting “yes” or “no”. Rosie Cooper  has said she will weigh it up when it is put before Parliament before voting for or against. “I will consider the detail of any proposal put before Parliament and if I believe it is in the interests of my constituents I will vote for it. If I feel it is not in their interests I will vote against it. Any deal must not negatively affect work, productivity or growth in West Lancashire and must address issues in the North West not just in London-centric or cater for the South East only”.

West Lancashire voted to leave the EU. West Lancashire voted to elect Rosie Cooper to Parliament. She didn’t, so far as I know, challenge her own West Lancashire election in any-ones’ interests. Why would she challenge the West Lancashire leave vote in anyone else’s’ interests including the “North West”? Just asking.

  1. Many of us are watching our so-called “democratic” politicians closely.

    • And so we should. Democracy is not always evident in this day and age.

  2. Sounds like old ‘Splinter’ is back where she usually is- sitting on the fence until she figures out what’s best for Splinter.

That’s the trouble with these Liberals -sorry, Labour- politicians.
