Cnty Cllr Greenall At Aughton Parish Council

First news from the Aughton Parish Council meeting tonight comes from Cnty Cllr Paul Greenall, that he “Is at a very well attended public meeting @ Aughton Parish Council, where the proposed Local Plan is being discussed” [Cllr Greenall’s pic]. The meeting has attracted circa 80 residents who have heard WLBC Cllr John Hodson give a few hours of his time to address the issue and then answer questions about the proposed 30 year local plan.

Also in attendance are Cllrs Wally and Mrs Wally  Westley, Cllr Stephenson and Cllr O’Toole, all of whom have been through a similar process 5 years ago. While not having all the answers to the sceptical residents of Aughton, Cllr Hodson remained cool under fire! More to follow!

  1. Is it true that had that event been an official WLBC event, only a maximum of SIX people could attend at a time?

    • Yes, that is true. WLBC states “The Council is organising Local Plan public consultation events where people can speak directly to a Council officer about the plan. Each event will run from 10am until 9pm, but people will need to pre-book a half hourly appointment slot for a time that suits them online or over the phone before the day of the event. There will be a maximum of six people in each appointment to ensure everyone gets to ask their questions and discuss their views. Visit to book an appointment or call 01695 585194. People who turn up without booking in advance will not be able to come into the event. Groups of more than six people will not be allowed in”.

      • Divide and conquer.Isolate potential objectors or “trouble makers” for WLBC. This Labour council is even more vicious and oppressive than the Tories. And that’s saying something.

      • It seems on the evidence so far there are huge numbers of objectors. Labour or Tory, land/housing developers will be rich beyond our imagination. Buy shares in builders as soon as this plan is approved?

  2. Good point. They simply sell the people who elect them down the river, in favour of enriching developers. It’s all they’re good at, but it raises the question- what’s in it for them? A fleeting feeling of power? Brown envelopes? Cases of champagne?
Who knows? All we know is they are a stain on decency.
