On Tuesday, 8 May 2018 all WLBC elected members received the message below
“TO: THE MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS
“Dear Councillor, You are summoned to the Annual Meeting of the COUNCIL to be held in the COUNCIL CHAMBER, 52 DERBY STREET, ORMSKIRK L39 2DF on WEDNESDAY, 16 MAY 2018 at 7.30 PM at which your attendance is requested.
Kim Webber Chief Executive”
It seems that Wyre/WLBC two hatter Cllr Moon was absent and he is reported not to have offered an apology. By contrast it seems that LCC/WLBC/Lancs Fire Authority three hatter Cllr O’Toole was absent and did send an apology.
Despite the “Cllr Westley is unwell” episode at the Aughton Parish Council meeting on Monday and the absence there of Mrs Westley, Mrs Stephenson, and Currie, it seems they all attended the meeting last night.
Perhaps the annual allowance bestowed on “borough/borough” elected members might be best paid only on a % of attendance basis, in which case Moon might receive 71% of his fee. Arguments that elected members work hard outside the council chamber ought to be proven by production of casework reports. That would settle what share of his time Moon bestows on Hesketh-with-Becconsall?
