Lies Told Door To Door 2018

Whoever thought that the Champion report of 10 December 2013 might come back to haunt local Tory campaigns in May 2018? Danielle Thompson wrote “Aughton residents are calling for Councillor David Westley to resign – after he called the two-year campaign to keep Parrs Lane in the greenbelt ‘a waste of time’ and alleged that door to door campaigners had told lies”. He said “The campaign was a disaster, lies were told door to door and the campaign was a waste of time”.

He then walked out of the meeting at Aughton Village Hall amid shouts that the campaigners had not lied, jeers and calls for his resignation. He did not oblige!

But now, Tory claims here  that the LCC has re-instated the plan for an Ormskirk By-pass have been refuted by Tory LCC Cllr Iddon, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport. Not only that, but OWLs  wrote “The Conservatives are back in control of Lancashire. They have…re-instated the plan for the Ormskirk by-pass. “Imagine my surprise (or perhaps not given my experience of the local Conservative Borough Group Leader) to learn yesterday from County Councillor Keith Iddon, the Highways Portfolio Holder that “I can confirm that the Ormskirk Bypass is not part of the county council’s plans for managing the transport network in West Lancashire”.

Lies were told and have been delivered door to door in Derby Ward. Shocking!
