Local Tory Members Hit By Huge Price Increase For Cheese And Wine Event

A local Tory cheese and wine night event, planned for 2nd March 2018 at the Aughton Institute, Bold Lane, Aughton, has been hit by an inflationary 16.67% increase since its first announcement.

Announced in the Conservative Association Winter 2017 Newsletter  at a cost of £15 for “fine wines and delicious cheeses” by the West Lancashire South Branch, it’s now advertised on the Association website  at £17.50. That’s UP by 16.67% and the words “fine wines and delicious cheeses” have been dropped, probably because they will be serving bog standard supermarket produce instead?

Perhaps there won’t be any Stinking Bishop cheese  that dates back to the time of the Cistercian monks? Or no Epoisses , one of the smelliest cheeses you can find. Just so you get an idea of its repulsive odour, you should know that Epoisses has been banned from public transportation vehicles all over France!

A local Tory party member told WLR he and his wife won’t be there. “Not at that price thanks, 16.67% increase?”. Oh dear!
