Aughton Resident Wishes Redrow And Wainhomes Luck And Success

Our anonymous Aughton resident “details supplied in secret” to the Champion is back in full flow. In what is on the balance of probabilities a Tory party election ploy the letter clearly condemns the Labour Council and MP aughtres0902-001 [click to read]

Nothing wrong with declaring political dogma, many people do it. Affordable housing in Aughton would, apparently, accommodate all residents in our little corner of the world! But what IS an affordable house price in Aughton? Sadly, not suggested by Aughton resident.

Perhaps Redrow might tell us as it “defies Brexit blues as it posts record results with pre-tax profits up by 35%. The Flintshire-based group, founded in 1974, said revenue rose 23 per cent in the first half of 2016 to £739 million and it forecasts another ‘significant’ year of growth ahead. Looking further into the future, the construction company expects to deliver turnover of £1.9 billion in 2019. Redrow, which said in September it had seen ‘very little impact’ from the Brexit vote, saw private legal completions grow 13 per cent to 2,459 in the six months to December 31 2016”. The company’s private order book was also up by 35 per cent at £897 million. Given the buoyant results, the firm recently decided to acquire the East Midlands-based homebuilder Radleigh Homes, which will now become a new division within Redrow” redrowsalesup.

But that suggests Redrow doesn’t really need the endorsement of Aughton resident. As house prices continued to climb last year, Redrow said it sold more homes at a higher price, with its average selling price at £328,500, an amazing 9.5 per cent increase from £297,300 in 2015. What a ploy that might be, push the prices up by 9.5% in Aughton, reduce the price by 9.5% in Aughton and that’s affordable? redrowsales

Aughton resident berates the never-ending granting of HMOs on every affordable home in Ormskirk, an event that never happened under the Tory administration, apparently! Oh, nor did “serious misuse of taxpayer monies” such as those spent in the westleyarms under the old administration?
