The End Of Landfill At Beacon Park Golf Course

This is the scene at the West Lancashire Borough Council owned Beacon Park Golf Course old driving range today as it’s development by landfill into a Foot Golf “course” seems complete. Gone are the CAT/Bulldozers as shown previously, and the site is a sad imitation of a finished course. These pictures illustrate the entire mess, seemingly approved by the secret and seedy deal arranged with West Lancashire Leisure Trust, Serco, and Oakland Golf and Leisure Ltd, by the Borough Leisure Department. Some residual rubbish [click all pics to enlarge], drive2412-003 a remaining shell of a driving range bay,  drive2412-007 a mounded wall of mud and landfill rubble at the entrance,  drive2412-006 another high wall of clay drive2412-008  opposite the entrance to the area, and finally the entire vista of the un-gated and un-secure entrance that might attract unwanted young motor cyclists drawn to an off road challenge they would be endangered by drive2412-010. Well done WLBC, Serco, and Oakland Golf and Leisure Limited for this Beacon Park Golf Course legacy!
