Report From Halsall Parish Council

At the Halsall Parish Council meeting, with 5 Councillors present and the Clerk, there were no public concerns raised.

As usual the diligent Halsall Borough Councillor Maureen Mills momills gave her report on matters including the Local plan, the Budget, and local traffic issues with LCC.

Representatives’ reports included upcoming meetings from school governor Clr Brookfield, Ormskirk School, and the Transport Thematic Group. Cllr Neil Campbell had attended LALC.

Among Working Groups, Transport, they are still trying to find a source of advice to set up a bus service using LCC’s offer of a bus. LCC have agreed a route/timetable but PC needs help to run it.

On Fracking, Halsall Against Fracking(HAF) and Frack Free Formby held a meeting with the Bishop of Liverpool on 7th November. There is a National Rally in Manchester 12th November. Meetings are being arranged with landowners.

HAF is helping communities set up groups in Haskayne/Downholland, Maghull/Lydiate and Burscough. And they are making applications for grants to help with activities such as hiring halls.
