They Seek Him Here, They Seek Him There

The West Lancashire Conservative Association (WLCA) tells us “The northern wards of West Lancashire are served by borough councillors and county councillors from the neighbouring South Ribble Association. The details are to be found on the South Ribble Association website”.

And when we visit the South Ribble Conservative Association (SRCA) cons we read ”We are delighted to welcome you to the Association’s official website, the place to keep up-to-date on the latest news, campaigns and events throughout the year.

“The Association’s footprint falls to the south of Preston and covers South Ribble Borough Council’s central and western area’s together with wards in Chorley to the south and West Lancashire to the west covering the areas of Leyland, Penwortham, Buckshaw Village, Midge Hall, Eccleston, Mawdesley, Croston, Bretherton, Ulnes Walton, Little Hoole, Much Hoole, Longton, New Longton, Hutton, Whitestake, Hesketh Bank, Banks, Rufford, Tarleton, Sollom, Walmer Bridge and Mere Brow”.

We also read that Councillor Iain Ashcroft is Councillor for West Lancashire Borough Ward – Hesketh-With-Becconsall. But the second Councillor for Hesketh-With-Becconsall, Moon, is not listed on either website. Perhaps he went AWOL? Or is just keeping his head down moon-underpants? Whatever, South Ribble is hardly keeping the electorate up-to-date! The WLCS states “South Ribble Conservative Association Dinner Friday 18th November. Dinner at the Leyland Hotel with the previous Secretary of State for Wales and Work and Pensions Minister Stephen Crabb MP as our Guest Speaker. Cost £35 pp. Lounge suits. Perhaps guest speaking about “sexting”? For £35? But the SRCA today states “Future Events. Sorry, we haven’t got any upcoming events”. What a cock-up!
