Lest We Forget October 2013, Today Marks The End Of The Local Plan

The Local Plan until 2027 lasted 3 years? Which Aughton councillor was it who said “I will vote for what I believe is best for West Lancashire” and then voted for the end of Parrs Lane? Before we count the cost of the Parrs Lane defeat, we should all remember how the Council divided. grimreaper  At the Full Council-Held 16 October 2013; West Lancashire Local Plan. A supplementary report was circulated at the meeting which advised of the receipt of a ‘letter before action’ from lawyers acting on behalf of Peel, a landowner in the Borough, and to clarify the options open to Members. pantojones

And on the day Parrs Lane is condemned to be a building site we remember the glee from Cllr Greenall of Derby Ward “With my Ward colleagues Cllr Owens and @davidwestlancs threemusketeers on one of the Green Belt areas saved for the future”. But is it? Perhaps Lord Derby might quote today’s decision as a precedent to build on Altys Lane?

  1. The Local Plan was flawed from the very start, sites removed to aide a councillor to be elected, plan B sites brought in as plan A without any notice to residents, pampering to developers greed rather than need, false or misleading infomation added that couldn’t be challenged, total ignorance to the potential shutdown of pumping stations, and the audacity of councillors and officals stating that the Plan was “robust”! Where are some of the main culprits now….ohh yes….gone! The next Local Plan should include the reinstating of “stocks” in the town centre so residents can find good use for rotten veg for “rotten” councillors! How much this farce will cost the rate payer in financial terms short term and the loom of the developer vultures long term is not known yet but potentially it’s huge!

    • Yes, and if costs follow the case in planning appeals we will pay the developers’ costs too!
